English for Speakers of Other
Languages (ESOL)
CRIS offers English language classroom instruction for adults in ten community
locations – all chosen for their convenience for refugees and immigrants.  Morning, afternoon and
evening classes are available.

Classes are taught by qualified native speakers of English and often with assistance from volunteer
Classroom Aides.   To inquire about becoming Classroom Aide, please contact Rami Arafah at
rarafah@cris-ohio.com or 987-1646.
    To be eligible to enroll, a person must be one of the following:

  • a refugee who entered the United States within the past five years
  • an asylee who was granted asylum in the US within the past five years
